Business Motivation – June 9, 2009
Find the Good side to Every Situation You cannot have the success you seek without some failures too. Any experience can be transformed into something of value. Everything depends on the way you look at things. What appear to be stumbling blocks and defeat before you can be stepping stones to victory if you remain determined. In all of your adversities lies the seeds of equivalent advantages. In every defeat there is a lesson showing you how to win the next time. View your problems as opportunities. When it’s dark enough you can see the stars. === Reprinted with permission Sam Maitz Director of Marketing Technology Leadership Management® International, Inc. Improve Productivity with Communication
Written By Paul J. Meyer. (Reprinted with permission) Business leaders often state that one of the greatest needs in the workplace is people who can communicate. Once goal setting and planning are accomplished, goals and plans must be communicated to others whose cooperation is needed. Effective communication unifies employees and their work to the overall purpose and direction of the organization. Through communication, you raise your organization’s levels of energy, enthusiasm, and productivity! Mastering the art of communication is a complex process demanding time and ongoing effort. But choosing to continually improve your communication skills increases your productivity dramatically and the productivity of those around you.

Wanting to Succeed is Everything The most important quality essential to success is perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature. Success is connected with continuous action. It’s largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go. You’re not finished when you’re defeated, you’re only finished when you quit. You can have a fresh start any time you choose, for “failure” is not in the falling down, but in the staying down. It’s not over until it’s over. If you’ve got the courage to stick it out, you’ll attain your goal. Winning isn’t everything, but wanting to is. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again. === Reprinted with permission Sam Maitz Director of Marketing Technology Leadership Management® International, Inc. All Great Achievements Take Time Every big accomplishment is a series of little accomplishments. To achieve maximum success you must accept that progress is made one step at a time. A building is built one brick at a time. Football games are won one play at a time. A business grows bigger one customer at a time. You walk over the highest mountain one step at a time. Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out. Nothing great is created suddenly, any more than a bunch of grapes or an apple miraculously appears. If you want to grow an apple, you must give it time. There must be time for it to blossom, bear fruit and then ripen. That which grows fast, withers as rapidly. That which grows slowly, endures. === Reprinted with permission Sam Maitz Director of Marketing Technology Leadership Management® International, Inc. A Good System Shortens the Road to a Goal Your goals can only be reached through the vehicle of a plan. One in which you fervently believe, and upon which you will vigorously act. There is no other route to success. Having an intelligent plan is your first step to success. With a plan, you know where you’re going. You’ll know what progress you’re making. And you’ll have a pretty good idea of when you can expect to arrive. Meticulous planning will enable everything you do to appear spontaneous to other people. What do you want to achieve or avoid? The answers to these questions are your objectives. How do you go about achieving your desired results? The answer to this will be your strategy. A good plan permits you to frame your life so that at some time in the future fact and your dreams will meet. Success or failure is often determined on the drawing board. === Reprinted with permission Sam Maitz Director of Marketing Technology Leadership Management® International, Inc. You Can Make Your Dreams a Reality You have the power and the opportunity to change your life. You can make anything you want of it. It’s not difficult, it just takes some effort. See things as you would have them be instead of as they are. Develop a personal plan that focuses on what you want, not on what you have. Your imagination will show you how to turn your possibilities into reality. Visualize your goals and your subconscious will begin to work toward making those mental pictures come true. If you picture yourself vividly as winning, that alone will contribute immeasurably to your success. Knowing your destination is the first step you need to get there. === Reprinted with permission Sam Maitz Director of Marketing Technology Leadership Management® International, Inc. Successful People Make Decisions It’s your life. You decide what you’re going to do with it. If you don’t run your own life, someone else will. You’re in control of your life to the degree that you make decisions. To control the outcome of anything, you control the action at the point of decision making. If you let others make decisions for you, you give up control. When you control the decisions, you control the actions. Take charge of your life, so there is no longer a need to ask permission of others. When you ask permission, you’re giving someone “veto” power over your life. Only you are responsible for your life. Take control and start making those decisions. === Reprinted with permission Sam Maitz Director of Marketing Technology Leadership Management® International, Inc.
