Successful People Make Decisions If you don’t run your own life, someone else will. You’re in control of your life to the degree that you make decisions. To control the outcome of anything, you control the action at the point of decision making. If you let others make decisions for you, you give up control. When you control the decisions, you control the actions. Take charge of your life, so there is no longer a need to ask permission of others. When you ask permission, you’re giving someone “veto” power over your life. It’s your life. You decide what you’re going to do with it. Only you are responsible for your life. Take control and start making those decisions. (Reprinted with permission, Sam Maitz, Director of Marketing Technology, Leadership Management® International, Inc.)

You Determine Your Attitude Your attitude is not determined by circumstances, but by how you respond to your circumstances. You can respond positively or negatively to any situation. It’s how you react to events, not the events themselves, that determines your attitude. Any challenge facing you is not as important as your attitude towards it, for that will determine your success or failure. Do The Next Thing Keeping a little ahead of conditions is one of the secrets of business. The time to repair your roof is when the sun is shining. So, do things before they need to be done. Let your advance worrying become advance thinking and planning. Position yourself ahead of time in the best place for you. You’ll gain the advantage in any situation through the medium of time. When you think ahead of any approaching action you’ll always have the advantage. You’ll be the winner. When you do what is necessary, all the odds are in your favor. Colin Powell’s Rules It ain’t as bad as you think. It will look better in the morning. Get mad, then get over it. Avoid having your ego so close to your position that when your position falls, your ego goes with it. It can be done! Be careful what you choose.  You may get it. Don’t let adverse facts stand in the way of a good decision. You can’t make someone else’s choices. You shouldn’t let someone else make yours. Check small things. Share credit. Remain calm.  BE KIND. Have a vision. Be demanding. Don’t take counsel of your fears or naysayers. Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier. It Takes Persistence To Reach Your Goal “Keep doing” is the rule that must be followed if you want to be successful at anything. Your success will always be connected with your actions. Just keep moving towards your goal. You’ll make mistakes along the way but don’t ever quit. You may even have to hang on after others have let go. Persistence means taking pains to overcome every obstacle, to do all that’s necessary to reach your goal. In the end, the only people who fail are those that quit. All great achievements takes time. You Can, Because You Think You Can Your range of available choices right now has no limits. The only limits you have are in your mind. You’ve got it in you to succeed. Just make up your mind and stick with it. You weren’t born with any limits on your powers or any set limits to your capacity. At any moment, you have more possibilities than you can act upon. Imagine your possibilities and your vision expands. Capture your dreams in your mind and your life becomes full. Reach out and touch the limits of your being in your mind. Look at things as they can be. (Reprinted with permission, Sam Maitz, Director of Marketing Technology, Leadership Management® International, Inc.)

The empire of your future resides in your mind. Big thinking precedes big achievement. You Can Make Up Your Mind To Be Anything You’re special and unique among all the creatures on the planet earth. You’ve been endowed with the capacity and the power to create desirable pictures inside your mind and to find them automatically printed in the outer world of your environment. You’ll gradually grow into any condition you desire, provided you first make yourself in habitual mental attitude the person who corresponds to that condition. Picture yourself vividly as winning, and that alone will contribute immeasurably to your success. All your dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them. You Have What It Takes Are you familiar with the quote, “Knowledge is power?” We all know people who have everything going for them, including the best education from the best schools. Yet, they don’t seem to really live up to their potential Knowledge is like power. It has the potential to do something. A light bulb won’t produce light, a motor won’t turn, computers won’t function until they are turned on. They all have potential to do something great, and so do we once the potential is turned on. Get excited about your potential and get turned on by it. Put what knowledge you have to use to your full potential and you will achieve great things. Your Aspirations Are Your Possibilities You have to think big if you want to be big. Your only limits are those of vision. The more you can dream, the more you can do. Big thinking will always come before big achievement. The greatest achievements always take place in the framework of great expectations. When you cease to dream, you cease to live. If you don’t have a dream, how are you going to make it come true? (Reprinted with permission, Sam Maitz, Director of Marketing Technology, Leadership Management® International, Inc.)
