Making Choices Is Your Greatest Power While your character is formed by your circumstances, your desires can shape those circumstances. The one thing over which you have absolute control is your own thoughts. It is this that puts you in a position to control your own destiny. Nature is constantly at work around you. Character and destiny are her handiwork. She gives you love and hate, jealousy and reverence. You have the power to choose which impulse you follow. At any time you can decide to alter the course of your life. No one can ever take that away from you. You can do what you want to do and be who you want to be. Your greatest power is the power to choose. (Reprinted with permission, Sam Maitz, Director of Marketing Technology, Leadership Management® International, Inc.)

When You Cease To Dream, You Cease To Live If you want to enlarge your life, you must first enlarge your thought of it and yourself. You can lift yourself by your thoughts, and your vision of the future will help you climb mountains. Hold the ideal of yourself as you long to be, your ideal of what you long to attain — the ideal of health, efficiency, success. You’ll become as small as your controlling desire or as great as your dominant aspiration. High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation. Life Responds To Your Outlook Life is largely a matter of expectation. You must expect to succeed, if you want to succeed. When you expect things to happen, strangely enough, they do happen. Expectation energizes your goals and give them momentum. When you believe something good can happen, it will happen. The dreams you believe in come to be. Set your goals high. If you begin with some wild expectations you’ll succeed beyond your wildest expectations. You Are Bigger Than Your Problems Your obstacles will always look large or small to you according to whether you are large or small. Understanding this will give you the courage necessary to overcome them. Courage gives you the capacity to confront what can be imagined. It gives you the ability to rise above reality. Face your difficulties directly and you’ll always win. You are more important than any of your problems. Reality Forms Around Your Commitments Intense anticipation will transform your possibilities into reality. Strong desires will in time externalize themselves into concrete fact. Your desires are the precursors of the things which you are capable of having and doing. Weak desires will bring you weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat. The intensity of your desire governs the power with which your energies will be directed. When you care enough for a given result, you’ll almost certainly attain it. All of your dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them. Reality forms around your commitments. Desire is the starting point for success. Don’t Serve Time, Make Time Serve You You always have enough time if you will but use it wisely. Your dilemma goes deeper than having a shortage of time, it’s basically a problem of priorities. Most people leave undone those things that should be done, while they do things that they shouldn’t be doing. Set priorities for your goals. A major part of successful living lies in your ability to put first things first. Most major goals are not achieved because people put second things first. Is what you’re doing getting you closer to your objectives? Anything that is wasted effort represents wasted time. To choose time is to save time. There Is A Good Side To Every Situation View your problems as opportunities. You cannot have the success without the failures. Any experience can be transformed into something of value. Everything depends on the way you look at things. What are stumbling blocks and defeat before you can be stepping stones to victory if you remain determined. In all of your adversities lies the seeds of equivalent advantages. In every defeat there is a lesson showing you how to win the next time. When it’s dark enough you can see the stars. Go After What You Want And You’ll Get It When you’re sure you’re on the right road to success you don’t have to plan your journey too far ahead. Don’t burden yourself with doubts and fears as to the obstacles that may bar your progress. You don’t need to know all your answers in advance. Just have a clear idea of the goal you want to reach. You can only take one step at a time. If you can muster up the courage to begin, you’ll find the courage to succeed. It’s the job you never start that always takes the longest to finish. Eighty percent of success is in showing up. (Reprinted with permission, Sam Maitz, Director of Marketing Technology, Leadership Management® International, Inc.)

It’s Always A Good Time To Change The first step toward getting somewhere is to decide that you’re not going to stay where you are. You’re a product of your environment. So choose an environment that will best develop you toward your goals. Analyze your life in terms of your environment. Are the things around you helping you toward your success or are they holding you back? Your world today is a living expression of how you are using and have used your mind. It’s something that you can change at any time. You don’t have to remain a captive of your environment. Don’t say “If I could change, I would change,” say ”I can change, and I will change.” (Reprinted with permission, Sam Maitz, Director of Marketing Technology, Leadership Management® International, Inc.)

Everyone Has A Chance For Success People often handle life as they do bad weather. They while away the time waiting for it to stop. Yet the tide of opportunity comes to everyone. Opportunity knocks all the time, but you’ve got to be ready for it. When your chance comes, you must have the equipment to take advantage of it. The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, for time and chance happen to everyone. Take a second look at what appears to be someone’s “good luck.” You’ll find not luck but preparation, planning and success-producing thinking. When you’re prepared for opportunity your chance for success is sure to come. The season of failure is the best time for sowing the seeds of success. Decide that this will be your year for success and prepare for it to happen. (Reprinted with permission, Sam Maitz, Director of Marketing Technology, Leadership Management® International, Inc.)
